Snip snip.

Trigg County is going to need some new nets, because the Calloway County girls are taking a piece of the net home. That’s not all though; they also brought home a trophy and punched their ticket to play in the 2A state tournament. The team's plan is going great as they make their journey with hopes of being 2A state champs.

The Laker Review staff had to know how it felt to win that game, so we asked for some statements from some of the ladies on the team.

Oliva Perkins- “It was very special to cut down the net for the first time as a whole team.”

Hailee Jones- “It was special to cheer on a bunch of a girls who really wanted to win.”

Sayler Lowe- “It was a big team win for us. We battled and gave it all our effort. We really did leave it all on the court. Very exciting for all of us to cut down the net.”

Lexi McClure- “. . . a good team win. The energy was there, and it showed. It was super special to experience this, as a first for the whole team. And the celebration in the locker room was special. Good for the underclassmen to see.”

Jaycee Crouch- “It was a great accomplishment for the team, and we couldn’t be happier.”

While the Calloway County girls' basketball team moves onto to the next game in the tournament, this will be one they’ll never forget, and one Calloway is always proud of.
