Teen Spirit

It's no secret that Calloway County High School has a diverse group of talented students, and this year 7 of Mrs. Boyd’s students were accepted into the YAC (Yeiser Art Gallery) in Paducah Kentucky, as features in their 2023 “Teen Spirit” art gallery.  The YAC is a non-profit corporation with 501(c)(3) status, established in 1957 with the mission of introducing the world to modern fine arts. Today this organization strives to “Operate as a non-profit visual arts organization that serves adults and children of all ages throughout the region, without regard to race, color, religion, ethnic origin, sex, or disability.”  With this goal they have managed to reach our very own Calloway County High School.  The 7 students who were included in this year's gallery includes: Taylor Cupples in the 11th grade, Kendra Doran in the 11th grade, Gracie Fike in the 10th grade, Emma Martin in the 11th grade Isabella Rodriguez in the 11th grade, Taylor Meyers in the 12th grade, and Whitney Potter in the 12th grade. This group of extremely talented artists continue to aid in the mission of YAC and to follow the legacy put in place by former Calloway Alumni.

Isabella is one of the newer editions to Laker review who holds many talents revolving around Art, Photography, and tech design. After moving to Murray in the summer of 2020 from a town right outside of the U.S. capital, Isabella quickly got Involved in the Art programs in Calloway. This includes things such as arts and film classes, as well as the CCHS Art club! Something to note with Isabella is her unbreakable ability to come up with solutions to problems quickly, as well as being a quick learner.
