Smith’s Shoutouts
Faculty/Staff Shoutout
For the fourth issue of The Laker Review, Mr. Smith would like to shoutout our Assistant Principal Mr. Bobby Love. When talking about the hiring of Mr. Love, Smith said, “My first thought was, will I have time to adequately train somebody to do my job, as I’m training to become principal?” Lucky enough for Smith, Mr. Love has experience as a teacher, assistant principal, and even as the principal for a middle school. Smith also stated, “Even after knowing him previously, and him being well liked and respected, seeing him in action here at CCHS truly shows how much of a workhorse he is behind the scenes.”
Smith truly respects and admires the effort Mr. Love has put into his work this year and is grateful for his assistance.
Student Performance and Involvement Shoutout
With the updated additions to the BE RED initiative, including the ability for a teacher to submit a name to Mr. Love for a good deed or even just for being helpful, school culture is focused on rewarding positivity instead of punishing negativity. Smith commented, “The student involvement I have noticed lately is incredible; students I’ve never seen at ball games or even thought would attend ball games have been showing up and cheering for our teams.”
This clear improvement of student participation combined with the presence of the pep band at these games have made for an amazing experience. All the incentives to go to school sports events are student ideas and student led.
